Potty Time … Party Time … & Stickers

June 7, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

untitled

It is “Potty Time” at our house … Yes that is right “Party Time – (I mean Potty Time). We are officially out of Diapers (Ok – well we still use them at night, or long car rides.) – we have not fully graduated. My little 3 year old bundle of Joy is so happy to announce “He has to POO or PEE!” (grocery stores, doctors offices, you name it he is not afraid to let the world know. You would think he would receive glaring glances – oh no he is too cute, most people just chuckle, grin and give him a “thumbs up!”

He likes to use the washroom on his own, always with an annoucement “Mom I have to go the washroom and don’t come in OK”. Eventually Mom comes to the rescue…… usually it is when we need to use the plunger because it seems like their is a river in our house. Oh no it is just Noah using yet another roll of toilet tissue. The money we are saving on diapers finds its way to the toilet tissue section (hah!) His favorite undies are the blue airplane one’s grandma bought him. His first official pair of underwear was a real milestone in our house that day.

Big sister Meg was really proud too. She has encouraged him and provided him with his own set of airplane stickers. Time has passed and it has been a couple of months since he has joined the “Big Boys Club!”. Now I cruise quickly by the Diaper aisle in the grocery store and smile thinking I will book a family trip to Cuba with all the diaper savings. Hey something seems to be kinda wet, I look down thinking oh no maybe we should have had a bathroom break first. It is just my little man spitting on his hand and giggling and announcing to everyone “Look at me Momma”). Mmmm…. Maybe it is time to pick up some more wipes, we have not outgrown those treasures yet. Just imagine all the germs on those little hands. Where have those hands been today ….. wonders germaphobe Mom. More smiles from the passerbys – yes he is super cute (I think we will keep him).

Talk to you soon,

Labels for Motherhood

“A mother is a person who seeing there only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie!” ~ Tennava Jordon

Does anyone remember watching “Leave it Beaver” – Or am I dating myself? I posted this picture of June Cleaver on my face book page today – being that it is Mother’s Day 2013. June Cleaver is the ICONIC Mother – god bless her! My daughter is sitting on the couch next to me and I kinda mumble to her “hey don’t get that playdough on the couch!” – (ok maybe I kinda of barked it). I don’t think June would have Toy Story 2 on the TV playing with her laptop on her knee feeling like she should “blog” about Mother’s Day??? No not my June Clever she wouldn’t have the TV on – nor would she allow the kiddlets to have playdough on the couch – she would probably be baking a cake with the kids or prepare a loving lunch for the kiddlets. MMM… it is almost noon I am thinking chicken nuggets after the movie is over…. OK I guess I will not win the “Mother of the Year Award!” –

Well since my Title of the Blog is “Labels for Motherhood”…. What crazy weather we have had this past week – My daughter has been wearing some of her new summer clothes this week with the temperature at 27 some we have had for most of the week. I quickly stuck a label on my daughters new hat as she was rushing out to catch the morning bus. (It makes me think she will remember to bring it home with her). Well Maybe I shouldn’t have put those winter coats away just yet – (It was just hailing and it is a chilly 6 out today) – but the sun is shining.

So I just glanced over and guess what play dough all over the floor – so what does a mother do – start sweeping – my daughter said “Hey Mom – give me that broom it is Mother’s Day – Kids are supposed to help their Mom on Mother’s Day!”

So I better go – get that play dough cleaned up and get those chicken nuggets going – mmmmm… maybe it is a grilled cheese kinda day! We have decided to bake some “Betty Crocker Muffins with a “Duncan Hines Frosting” ( I think June would approve. Thank you Meg & Noah for letting Mom sleep in today and for the lovely home made gifts you made me – they are my treasures. Mumma loves the flowers too. (thanks Dad).

Happy Mother’s Day everyone – Enjoy your day!

First Game

Oh my gosh I was so amazed – so proud to be a cheering Momma on the sidelines of my “Little Kicker” playing on the field today! Today was my son Noah`s first official Soccer Game. Well I am not sure if it was a game but oh my I have not had a prouder moment than seeing him out there all on his own doing the `high 5`s to the Teachers (I guess I should use the official name) – Coach`s (Krystal, Sarah & Francis where amazing). He was kicking the ball all around and he didn`t like it when a little team-mate tried to take is hat. He promptly said (yelled) `Hey that`s my hat – don`t touch it!`. Well I guess the other team mates didn`t really like it when Noah was sprinkling his fellow team member with the lovely green grass. He was running down the field collecting the cone (thingys) when all the other where waiting their turn – he made a goal too! (Hooray Noah!) – you are going to be Magnificent……….

I think my little Man is growing up – he was out there without me having the best time! Well he did run in for a drink break and said “OK – I am done!“ (hah)…. OH my heart is swelling with pride and can`t wait to see him progress throughout the weeks to come. My mind was thinking OK what sport can I sign him up next for – (geez) this is first Team Sport – but skating – hockey in the Fall come to mind (mmmm). I could never understand those Hockey Mom`s (now I thinking I just may become one) – Well I guess you could call me a `SOCCER MOM`…. Oh my gosh – not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be so thrilled to have such a title.

“Our Philosophy precedes from the belief that sport is inalienable part of the educational process and factor for promoting peace, friendship, cooperation and understanding of peoples“ – Juan Antonio

This month we are very happy to Partner with (Krystal) at “Little Kickers in Guelph and their New Super Saver Card Program! High Five to Krystal & her Team!

Puddle Jumping

April 18, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

I posted this picture of “Puddle jumping” on my Facebook page today – with the caption “When was the last time you did that – go for it!” – This picture made me smile immediately on this glum rainy morning. We must remember to be childlike in our days. With all the faced paced moving of life – we need to stop – and maybe smell the flowers (well really there are not a lot of flowers right now) – or go jump in a puddle. Boots are a good idea – if not go for it get those shoes wet.

Here is a great quotes which sums up my thoughts. “Great is the man who has not lost his childlike heart” ~ Mencious

Well gotta go my little guy just got up – and it is ready to start the day! He is yelling (mumma) for me…. OH I love that little man and that little voice – so much for quiet time.

Easy – Peezy

April 5, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

I just Finished reading this post about 5 ways to Label Clothing – I would like to add a 6th WAY!

http://laundry.about.com/od/kidsandlaundry/f/labelclothes.htm

LABELING #6 – OPTION (PEEL & STICK) Using ELORA LABEL’S – This is “Easy Peezy” as my daughter Meg says! As the season’s are changing (yes Spring will find it’s way here) it is time to get out all of the Spring Clothing – new hats, new boots, coats, new bags (you name it!). They all need to come back home with your Kiddlets so remember to add those “EASY PEEZY STICKY ELORA LABEL”S” to them.

Remember they are Just Peel & stick and can go thru the dishwasher, washer – dryer – microwave. They are very durable!

“STICK WITH US & YOUR STUFF WILL STICK WITH YOU!”

Oh those eyes…….

March 27, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

Oh Those Eyes – My Little Man Noah!

We where just hanging out tonight at my daughter’s dance class – Noah was feeling good he had a good day playing outside today (in the mud) at Amanda’s and he still had lots of energy while we waited for Meg’s at dance.  He was up & down the stairs racing around his “dinky car” – his special blue one that Mom had  just bought for him (he was so proud of it).  After he was settled down somewhat he finally sat on Mom’s lap when all of a sudden he started crying for his ‘picky”.  “Picky” is his Favourite Blanket Auntie Lisa gave him when he was born.  Well we didn’t have it – but we had a ‘back-up’ picky in the car.   The poor little guy cried all the way home and still cried when we got home and he looked like the “one eyed monster” – he would not take his little hand away from his eye for over an hour.

Well what does a mother do – load him in the car and take him to the Clinic.  We where stitting in the waiting room (luckily not many people where there).  He looked at me with those beautiful eyes ( the one eye covered with his little hand)  and said “So ……  Mom how was your day?”  He also like’s to ask me how my day is about 9:00 am in the morning too (I love when he says that).  So here we are and he says that  – (it was truly one of those moments for the “memory bank”).

Poor little guy still covering his eye not letting anyone see it – Finally the Doctor did see it.   Little eyelashes where crusted in  little  eyes.  She tried to put a dye in his eye to check for scratches too – but it didn’t work.  AWWW…. Noah – imagine what a little Man of 2 feels like when he has eyelashes  stuck in his eye and has poked his eye somehow with his toy or bumped it into something?  Well we  walked out and he still had his ‘dinky car’ –  a new sucker (from the receptionist)  a toy spider &  his picky in his hand and out we went “eyelash free” – his eye is a little  red & tender and but grateful again it was just a little “bump” in the road .   I think it will match his Boo – Boo on his head and another Boo Boo on his foot!

He is my little monkey! Oh those Eyes ………… He makes me melt!  (I must admit I adore those eyes – when  my  “Little Man ” is snoring &  dreaming about his adventures of another day! ).

Keep Calm

March 22, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

“Keep Calm & Carry On Sticking“……………. Does this sound familiar to you. Well it might if you have seen my latest postcard marketing materials around town. It stems from the `Keep Calm & Carry On`quote. Thanks to my most wonderful graphic designer. She really is amazing!

I sit here and I wonder how many mothers are trying to `Keep Calm` with all the chaos life brings us at times. What a sad day today the City of Guelph has lost a young female police officer. I kissed my 6 year old daughter good night tonight as she fell asleep in my arms, with the thought of this poor mother tonight never having the opportunity again to spend with her daughter. My heart goes to this family and friends at this tragic loss of life.

On a lighter note I celebrated my Birthday and my girlfriends Birthday this past weekend by going out for lunch to a popular restraunt in the Royal City. I will just say I don`t think I want to take my 2 year old out in public again (Aunt Kim) you know what I am talking about – need I say more. Perhaps you where one of the diners who saw a little man running around or heard him shouting out the special of the day! So I guess I will just `Keep Calm & Carry On Sticking!`- and maybe dine out in another 10 years!

We need to just carve out a little time in our days and say `UMMMMMMMM` – and be grateful for another day and each other (even those 2 year old kiddlets) – Maybe when he turns 3 next month things will be different.

The Golden EGG

March 13, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

The Golden EGG! One of my fondest Easter memories as a child is my parents and brother David & I where lucky-to-be in Boca Raton, Florida at Easter one year! I remember we watched the most Magical Easter Parade in small town USA. (They so know how to put on a great parade). After the parade all of the kids were invited to an Easter Egg hunt at the local community centre.

Well guess what? My brother David WON the Grand Prize “The Golden Egg!” …….. but he was too old to claim the prize. So little sister Nancy got to all the glory (well actually we both shared in the glory) and spoke about this little story for years to come. It was our special little memory.

I wish for you this holiday season some new memories with your family and friends and to be grateful for each other. It is a time to remember those moments gone by which evoke those “golden memories”.

This month is a Busy one – “Happy March Break!” ~ “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” ~ “Happy 1st Day of Spring!” and “Happy Easter!”

We have a special on ALL of OUR LABEL PACKAGES this March – 20% OFF (March 1 – April 1, 2013) 20% – Use (Promo-code) BUNNYHOP.

LUCKY Girl…………..

February 28, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

“LUCK IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY” – Senaca

I am lucky – YES LUCKY! I am feeling grateful today to have such a Healthy Happy Family. Well we are not always Healthy or I guess not Happy all the time either. This last week my 2 kiddlets have been home sick with their MOM. Wow what a busy week looking after the little monkeys indoors in the cold winter months. We have watched movies, played musical intruments with the pots & pans (I have a 2 year old). We have baked, snuggled, giggled and wiggled. I must admit I haven’t been a happy camper all week but I am a grateful camper to know they will be back to their regular little schedules next week, (so will MOM). I am grateful that this Health issue is just a little bump in the road. I am so thankful my kids are Healthy & Happy!

I sent out my first newsletter this week – if you would like a future copy please sign up your email on the homepage of this website and we would be happy to send you our next copy. I wrote a little article about my favorite of houseplants the SHAMROCK Plant. They have the “will to live” they are the hardiest & delicate plant I know. They are my favorite!

Did I mention we have some SAVINGS on our CAMP LABELS for MARCH BREAK! It is not too late to ORDER! Use code LIKEUS for 10%

We Celebrate Love

February 8, 2013 by nancy Leave a Comment

Hello Everyone ~

This is the month we officially celebrate our Love for each other on the 14th of February!  I remember how exciting it was making the paper heart shaped basket to hold all of the Valentine’s Cards from my classmates.  Wow what a thrill to give them to all your friends and then to receive them back!  I can still taste the Heart shaped cookies from West End Bakery my Mom always managed to have when we came home from school.  She would always buy us cookies for me & my brother from our favorite local bake shop every Holiday.  Did I mention those bunny cookies ( save that one for next month).  I think I will begin that “BAKE SHOP” tradition with my Kiddlets too  (“thanks Mom”).

I hope you can re-capture some special memories from your  past Valentine’s when you where young.

Well we are expecting a “snowstorm” this evening with 25cm of snow just tonight.   It certainly brightens and warms up my thoughts this Snowy, Blowy Winter Day when I think of the many reasons I have to celebrate all of the LOVE and Wonderful Blessings I experience from my family and friends.  My wish for you  this “LOVE Month” is to have Joy in your Hearts (and eat lots of Heart Shaped Chocolates/Cookies!).

Did I mention I have a SALE on LABELS!  With every label package you order this month ~ you will receive FREE 10 STICKY HEART LABELS!  (We hope you will LOVE your LABELS!)

Talk to you soon ~
