1. Natural Beauty –
The Elora Gorge, the Grand River, the trails and the limestone cliffs make Elora beautiful in every season. I never seem to get tired of photographing it.
2. The Arts Every Everywhere –
As an artist, I love living in a community where creativity is such a big part of everyday life. Galleries, studios, local artists and events like the Studio Tour make Elora feel wonderfully creative. I have a shared studio space at the Elora Centre For the Arts, 2nd Floor. It is such an amazing space to come to with coffee in hand and create, I feel I am truly blessed to have this studio space.
3. Our Historic Downtown –
The old stone buildings, little shops, cafes and streets have so much character. It really has a certain European vibe to it and it has become a huge visitor destination. Even after you’ve been here countless times, there is always something interesting to discover.
4. Community –
It stills feels like a community. It is so nice to walk around town and run into people with familiar faces, supporting local businesses and seeing people come together for festivals, markets and community events.
5. Backyard Adventures –
Whether I’m walking along the river, exploring downtown, heading out with my camera or simply taking my dog Jack for a walk, Elora reminds me that sometimes the best adventures are right in your backyard!
Those are just five of the many reasons I love Elora. It’s a wonderful place to visit – but I am especially lucky to call this corner of Wellington County home.
